Carolina Vélez Muñiz
Artista multidisciplinaria que investiga los encuentros entre cuerpo y espacio a través de la construcción de circuitos electrónicos audiovisuales, la manipulación textil y la danza. Egresada de la Licenciatura en Bellas Artes de The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, donde se especializó en pintura, estudios de fibras y materiales y tejido con telar de pedal. En su trabajo material, ha desarrollado proyectos con la beca Jóvenes Creadores del Sistema de Apoyos a la Creación en México y en Chicago con la beca de Artes Visuales de la Fundación Luminarts. Sus piezas han sido parte de exposiciones colectivas en Ciudad de México (Centro Cultural de la Imagen, El Rule, Museo Anahuacalli, Compás 88, El Recinto), Guadalajara (Espacio Cabeza), Chicago (SITE Galleries, ACRE Projects), Grand Rapids (Urban Institute for Contemporary Art) y Panamá (Arte Nómada III).
Multidisciplinary artist who explores the intersections between body and space through the construction of audiovisual electronic circuits, textile manipulation, and dance. A graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she specialized in painting, fiber and material studies, and weaving with a floor loom. In her material work, she has developed projects supported by the Jóvenes Creadores grant from the Sistema de Apoyos a la Creacion in Mexico, as well as the Visual Arts grant from the Luminarts Foundation in Chicago. Her pieces have been featured in group exhibitions in Mexico City (Centro Cultural de la Imagen, El Rule, Museo Anahuacalli, Compás 88, El Recinto), Guadalajara (Espacio Cabeza), Chicago (SITE Galleries, ACRE Projects), Grand Rapids (Urban Institute for Contemporary Art), and Panama (Arte Nómada III).
